EXCLUSIVE: Ghanaian youngster set to join Norwegian side Viking FK

Ghanaian midfielder, Emmanuel Danso is close to joining Norwegian giants Viking FK, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report.

The Right to Dream graduate is on trials in the Scandinavian country and has been impressive with the club set to hand him a country.

Danso, who was previously scouted by German giants Bayern Munich and Spanish side Real Betis, has six months left on his contract at Olympique Lyonnais.

"He is a midfielder who can hold most positions in the middle. He is 21 years old and belongs to Lyon. He is registered in the B-squad there," says sports manager Erik Nevland to RA.

"We are in the process of getting a better picture of the player," he added.

Meanwhile, Danso believes joining Viking will be a big opportunity for his career after setbacks at Lyon due to COVID-19.

"I'm a six. A deep midfielder. That's the role I like best for everyone. My strength is probably good passing play. I can use both feet," he tells RA.

"I have already had high thoughts about the club. There are very nice people here. Both the players and those around. It seems to be a real family club.

"The surface is actually very good. The way Viking plays also suits me well. It is a team that likes to have control of the ball."
