EXCLUSIVE: Heart of Lions appoint Yusif Abubakar as new coach on three-year contract
Yusif Abubakar is set to join Heart of Lions

Coach Yusif Abubakar has been appointed as the coach of Ghana Premier League campaigners Heart of Lions, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The ex-Berekum Chelsea boss signed a three-year contract on Monday night to lead the Kpando club into the new season.

The two parties reached an agreement on Monday after before the deal was sealed later in the evening.

He will be thrust into the deep end on Tuesday as he joins the club in their pre-season training with the new season fast approaching.

Abubakar takes over from Coach Seth Hoffman, who was on temporary charge of the team steering them away from relegation fears at the end of last term.

Abubakar is getting back to top-flight football after leaving Berekum Chelsea last season and will replace Sarfo Castro, who was dismissed for poor performance.

Lions have been scouring the market looking for a competent coach after escaping relegation by a whisker in the past two seasons.
