Published on: 10 June 2021

Ghana attacker Joseph Paintsil is set to join Turkish giants Fenerbahce as part of a deal by his club, Genk to sign Tanzania star Mbwana Samatta, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Genk are interested in acquiring the services of the Samatta as a potential replacement for Paul Onuachu who is close to leaving the club.

A first offer from Genk was refused by Fenerbahce, but in the end, they have agreed to a transfer fee of 4.5 million euros.

In addition, Genk would also let Joseph Paintsil, who played a strong season on a rental basis at Ankaragücü, leave for Fenerbahçe in exchange.

Paintsil who is currently on holidays in Ghana is thought to have okayed the move to Fenerbahce.

The 23-year-old netted 11 times in the recently ended season in Turkey

This earned him a call up to the Black Stars for the friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast but he did not honour the invitation due to injury.
