Israeli giants FC Ashdod have signed Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Alabi in a permanent deal following his season-long loan spell in 2019/20, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

Alabi has penned a four-year contract with Yud-Alef Stadium outfit, ending his association with Ghanaian club Dreams FC.

The Nungua-born midfielder has quickly earned a cult following among FC Ashdod supporters for his flamboyant style of play, making 17 appearances and plundering 1 goal and providing 1 assist.

The 20-year-old's distinctive performance has earned him a nomination for the club's Player of the season award.

He climbed off the bench to play a part in FC Ashdod's 3-0 defeat against Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona in Week 28 of the Israeli Championship on Saturday.

Despite the loss, FC Ashdod maintain their 4th position on the standings with 31 points from 28 games.
