Ghana attacker Nana Opoku Ampomah has confirmed that Fortuna Düsseldorf enquired about his services from Waasland-Beveren in the early part of the summer transfer window.

Ampomah was a mainstay for Belgian Jupilar Pro League side Waasland-Beveren since joining in 2016 season.

The 21-year-old was in terrific form for Sven Vermant's during the regular season after netting eight goals in 32 appearances to help them finish 12th on the standings.

GHANASoccernet.com exclusively reported three months ago that the Ghana international was attracting interest from German Bundesliga 2 outfit Fortuna Düsseldorf, but the deal did materialize as he deemed a core part of Waasland-Beveren side for the 2018/19 campaign.

"Yes, there was contact, but in the end nothing really came out of that I feel good at Waasland-Beveren, our start may not be great, but this is a young team that grows every day I'm there sure we will let us know, "he says to Het Laatste Nieuws.

Ampomah has netted once in three games for the side in the ongoing Jupilar Pro League.
