Welwalo Adigrat University FC have mutually parted ways with Ghanaian midfielder Kennedy Ashia, GHANAsoccernet.com can disclose.

Ashia has failed to impress the technical handlers of the club leading to the termination of contract after just five months since he joined.

The former Liberty Professionals youngster signed a year deal with the Ethiopia Premier League side in September 2019 on a free transfer.

Ashia played for Sidama Coffee in the 2017/2018 season in the Ethiopian top-flight before heading to Welwalo.

The former Ghana U20 attacking midfielder has also had short stints with Al Hilal Omdurman in Sudan and AC Tripoli in Lebanon.

After the FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey in 2013, the 26-year-old joined Norwegian side SK Brann but couldn't land himself a permanent deal.
