Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi believes the Black Stars are destined to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars are fining tune in South Africa where they played a 1-1 draw with a second-string Bafana Bafana side last Sunday.

The 2010 Fifa World Cup quarter-finalists have been tagged as favourites for the title in the absence of holders Egypt, Nigeria and Cameroon.

Nyantakyi is optimistic Goran Stevanovic will not disappoint.

"We're ready. We're going for the ultimate," Nyantakyi told Goal. "I also have that strong belief that this is our time. I'm optimistic.

"The players have given the assurance that they are physically and mentally strong to live up to the expectation. Everybody is saying this is our time and it's a strong indication that we are going for it."

Ghana last won the cup in 1982, although they were runners-up when Egypt lifted the trophy in Angola in 2010.
