Fans stage instant ''Waarom Rood'' protest in Holland over Elvis Manu red card

Fans of Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles staged an instant protest over the red card given to their striker Elvis Manu on Saturday which culminated in their heavy defeat.

The fans of the bottom club produced the banner with the inscription ''WAAROM ROOD'' which means ''Why Red" to show their disgust over the controversial decision by the referee.

The Ghanaian was handed a controversial red card on Saturday that led to his side suffering a heavy 4-1 defeat to Heracles in the Dutch top-flight.

After the 8-0 defeat to Feyenoord in midweek, Go Ahead Eagles were looking to give their fans something to cheer but after only 14 minutes they were on route to another heavy defeat.

Manu was adjudged to have handled on the line leading to a red card for the winger and a penalty for the visitors.

This led to the fans producing their own instant banner to raise concerns over the red card Manu had in the game.

 

Go Ahead Eagles remain bottom of the table and five points from safety with only four games left. Heracles are ninth.
