Fatau Dauda mourns Acheampong exit from AshGold

Published on: 20 December 2012

Newly appointed AshGold captain Fatau Dauda has expressed 'bitter feelings' about the exit of Yaw Acheampong.

Coach Yaw Acheampong and assistant Didi Kamara were sacked by the Miners following a string of unimpressive performances in the Ghanaian top flight league.

The Black Stars shot-stopper recognises the role played by the former Miners captain.

"Coach Acheampong together with Didi Kamara have been with us for sometimes now and it feels very sad he is leaving but we have to accept the new situation and work to achieve the best," the 27-year-old told Accra-based Happy FM.

Dauda is set to make his second AFCON appearance after being name in Ghana's provisional 26-man squad for the 2013 tournament in South Africa.
