He hit the ground running prior to the suspension of football in the world amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The striker has revealed the most challenging times of his formative years when he left his family for the United States at aged 15-years.

"I think the biggest obstacle I have overcome is leaving my family in Ghana and coming to the United States when I was just 15 years old for high school. He taught me the importance of adaptation, which is an essential life lesson, especially to be a professional athlete, because you are constantly changing teams and you have to be able to adapt immediately."

He added: "Soccer has always been what I wanted for as long as I can remember, but I understand that soccer will come to an end. In the future I plan to finish my degree at the University of Michigan, for now everything is soccer. When I was in high school I did athletics and I could have stayed in college, but I thought about quitting to focus on soccer."

Atuahene joined FC Dallas in 2018 but was farmed out on loan to Oklahoma City Energy FC where he scored four goals.
