German-born Ghanaian female footballer, Eunice Beckmann, has explained the reason behind her absence for the Black Queens game against Nigeria in the AWCON qualifiers despite getting an invite.
The FC Koln striker picked up an injury before their game against Carl Zeiss Jana and was an unused substitute as the Billy Goats won 2-0 in the Frauen-Bundesliga.
The striker disclosed she was ready to join the team but the injury setback prevented her from making her long awaited Black Queens debut.
"I was very excited to meet my team mates for the AFCON qualifiers. Unfortunately I suffered a muscle strain injury. Therefore I won’t be able to participate. I’m wishing the Black Queens all the best in the upcoming games vs Nigeria and hoping to be part of the squad next time," she wrote on Twitter.
