FEATURE: Four Ghanaian youngsters tipped to take the serie A by storm in the near future

The Italian football pyramid is awash with many great talents from Africa and particularly Ghana.

As at the last count there were more than 60 active Ghanaian players from Serie A down to the youth championships.

After carefully monitoring and examining young Ghanaian talents in Primavera division (U 19), here are four young footballer's who are likely to figure prominently for their clubs in the not too distant future.

Ahmed Awua- Parma Calcio

Ahmed is a decisive tackler and an intelligent passer of the ball who provides assurance and authority in midfield. His perceptive reading of movements and precious ability shuffle the ball up the pitch with refined technique has made him an important component of coach Marco Verjonese's side.

Ahmed is vocal, disciplined and applies himself to the tactical instructions of the coach. His traits makes him a potential future captain of his teammates. Thee 18 year-old regularly trains with the first team squad based on the recommendations from his manager.

Ahmed has scored goals and two assists in 17 appearances for Parma so far this season.

Brian Oddei- Sassuolo.

Brian is an exceptional creative player who plays on the right wing for the Neroverdi. His extraordinary ability wriggle his way through defenders with great speed makes him the most influential player for Sassuolo in the Primavera side.

Sassuolo manager, Roberto De Zerbi, is a huge fan of Brian, asking him and has occasionally called him up to Ube part the first team squad against Perugia in the Copa Italia and Napoli in Serie A.

The 17 year- old has attracted interest from particularly from AS. Roma. Brian is affable, a strong character carries who carries himself well and greatly admired by his peers .So far this season he has registered three goals and eight assists in 21 matches. He is yet to decide whether to play for Ghana or Italy.

Philip Yeboah- Hellas Verona

The 17 year-old striker was promoted to Hellas Verona's Primavera side this season after a high scoring performance for the U 17 side last season with 25 goals. An achievement that earned him a full page article in Italy's biggest daily sports newspaper Gazzetta dello sport.

One great strength of Philip's range of abilities is his power behind the ball which goalkeepers struggle to deal with. Yebo, as he is famously known among his peer is physically strong, great in the air and a good dribbler. His hold up play is excellent.

This season, Philip has been deployed on the left side of attack, producing a return of eight goals and three assists in 18 games. Despite his level of hunger and aggression he shows on the field, Philip is abit shy off it. Yebo is undecided about playing for either Ghana or Italy.

 

Carl Davordzie- Parma Calcio 

Carl is an incredibly gifted forward who plays with supreme confidence. The 19 year- old is quick with remarkable ball control, he's mobile and likes to press defenders.

His sense of awareness and ability to anticipate a pass or a cross from teammates makes him a future candidate to lead Parma's attack. Carl loves to drop deep to take part in the build up play and occasionally helps in defence.

Carl became part of Parma's senior side last season after impressing in five games in the Primavera division with three goals. He was on the bench in Serie A games against Napoli, Juventus, Lazio and Bologna.

Unfortunately Carl has had to deal injuries limiting him to just three games this season with two goals. One of which was scored in a friendly match. Carl Davordzie is arguably Ghana's most talented striker in the Primavera division.
