Published on: 22 March 2025

I saw a comment on a post when someone was asking what has Tourism got to do with Sports and why is @ghanatourismGTA promoting the Black Stars vrs Chad  world Cup qualifier match ?

Well let me take this opportunity to enlighten the public.

Tourism and Sports complement each other and the Ghana Tourism Authority’s involvement in the Black Stars vs. Chad match was a strategic move to position Ghana as a top-tier tourist destination.

As you noticed we intentionally integrated cultural performances from the Ghana dance ensemble , a local bar set up for dignitaries at the stadium created an opportunity to showcase Ghana’s culinary and beverage industry by Providing authentic local drinks and delicacies added a hospitality element to the event, allowing the VIP guests to experience the warmth of Ghanaian culture and hospitality.

We strategically advertised some of our key iconic tourist sites and attractions at the stadium, leveraging the global audience of the match to promote Ghana as a must-visit destination. Our team displayed visuals of landmarks such as Cape Coast Castle, Wli waterfalls , the Indepence arch , the Larabanga Mosque  , Shai Hills and among others to offer both in-person spectators and television audiences to see Ghana’s rich tourism offerings.

Rwanda’s sponsorship of Arsenal Football Club, featuring the “Visit Rwanda” logo on players’ sleeves, has significantly boosted the country’s tourism sector.

Rwanda received 1.711 million visitors in 2018, reflecting an 8% increase compared to 2017.

This collaboration has enhanced Rwanda’s visibility as a tourist destination, contributing to the growth in tourism arrivals.

This is our initiative led by our adorable Internationally Recognized Events , PR & Marketing Expert , the CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority , Mrs Maame Efua Houadjeto Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr Randy Abbey , the CEO of Ghana Cocoa Board , Mr Julius Neequaye Kotey , the CEO Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, Ghana with Blessings from our mother Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie , the minister of Ministry of Tourism, Arts And Culture Tourism and sports are deeply interconnected, as major sporting events attract large numbers of visitors, promote a country’s cultural heritage and boost the local economy. Sports tourism is a niche segment of the travel industry.
