Turkish giants Fenerbahce have been asked to sign Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan by Friday or forget about their interest in the striker.

The Istanbul club has approached French club Rennes with a 16.5million Euro for Gyan but the offer was rejected.

Rennes have asked Fenerbahce to pay 18million Euros for the forward who excelled at the World Cup in South Africa in June.

Rennes are looking at Loic Remy as a possible replacement for Gyan.

The French club will then put a portion of that money to use in an attempt to buy Remy from Nice.

Rennes sporting director Pierre Dreossi told radio station RMC that the Turkish side have "until Friday" otherwise "it’s over".

The feeling within France is that now Fenerbahce have been eliminated from qualifying for the Champions League, the Turkish side will not be ready to pay such a high fee for Gyan and will instead concentrate on Mamadou Niang from Marseille.
