Ghana defender Abraham Frimpong traveled with his Ferencvarosi teammates to Spain for the UEFA Champions League group opener against Barcelona on Tuesday.

The defender will be hoping to start against the Spanish giants after his impressive display over the weekend against Kisvarda in Hungary.

Frimpong has been a key member of the team as they return to the group stage of the competition for the first in twenty-five years.

The Hungarian champions have been drawn in Group G of the UEFA Champions League, alongside Barcelona, Juventus and Dynamo Kyiv.

Ahead of Tuesday's clash with Barcelona, the former Red Star Belgrade defender is eager to play against Messi, a player he describes as special.

"If I’ve played against them - and I hope they give - I might be able to decide. But if I have to choose, I will cast my vote for Messiah," he told bunteto.com.

"In my world life, I pushed for Real Madrid, which is why Ronaldo could be closer to me, but Messi is even more special," he added.
