Ferguson asks Man Utd to send him a Lego set of United's famous stadium (Sun)

Sir Alex Ferguson spent 27 years building his Manchester United empire as manager.

And it appears the 78-year-old has spent his 10 weeks in lockdown due to the coronavirus building Old Trafford back up again.

But this time in Lego form.

The former boss contacted the club to ask them to send him a Lego set of United's famous stadium after seeing the model online, according to The Sun.

The 3,898-piece stadium replica costs £250 and even includes the famous Ferguson statue and the stand named after him there.

The set is described as a 'challenging building experience' by Lego and would take around seven-and-a-half hours to build.

Ferguson is not the only United legend to have been taken by the Old Trafford model.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer once had a build off against former captain Bryan Robson, but struggled with the favourite kids' toy.

The United manager once said: 'I was challenged to build a Lego Old Trafford against Brian Robson.

'I did it – or should I say we did, because it was mainly my family. I didn't have the patience.'
