German born Ghanaian forward Christian Conteh has disclosed the reason behind his famous nickname 'De Rakettenmann.'

The 20-year old joined Dutch giants Feyernoord from St. Pauli in the current transfer window, but it is his nickname that has seen him gain attention in the Netherlands.

Conteh is referred to as the "De Rakettenmann" which translates as The Rocketman because of his pace and ability to outwit his opponents on a one-on-one situation.

The Germany youth players revealed he had the nickname growing up on the streets of Hamburg.

"I feel great. It is a huge challenge for me to play for such a club. With an incredible trainer", Conteh in a video on Feyenoord TV stated.

"Raketenmann, that suits me. I'm a fast player. I like to go one-on-one at speed. That's why I got that nickname in Hamburg."

Conteh played in the youth team of FC St. Pauli from 2017 and made his debut for the senior team at the age of 19 last season.

In his debut game against Arminia Bielefeld, the later champion of the second Bundesliga, he scored right away.

This season he managed nine appearances across all competitions and scored two goals.
