The Ghana fans turned up in decent numbers to cheer for their team in a 1-0 defeat to the United States at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.

The first match of the day between the United States and Ghana was technically the better match of the day but the attendance was poor as crowd generally came in for the second encounter where India are supposed to take on Colombia.

While evenly balanced encounter on field ended on a 1-0 win for the men in red, the United States were easily outnumbered in the stands.

Supporters turned out in decent numbers to cheer for the African side.

The group of Ghana supporters sung and chanted the name of footballers and the country to boost the youngsters on the field.

And one cannot say it didn't work. The kids played some impressive football leading to half-time and had some decent chances but couldn't convert them.

US finally broke the deadlock in the 75th minute through Ayo Akinola which sent the Ghana fans in silence but they were soon up and running, trying to push their team to victory but to no avail as John Hackworth's men held onto their slender lead.

The second half however had more people coming in anticipation of the India match as they prepared to take on Colombia.
