The Ghana U20 Women’s national team put on a fine display on Sunday to see off their Guinea Bissau counterpart with a 3-0 victory.
The Ghanaian side nicknamed the Black Princesses locked horns with the opponent today in the first meeting of the tie in Round 1 of the African qualifiers for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
In a game played at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau, the Black Princesses dominated the game to secure the first-leg win.
The first half ended with Ghana having a narrow lead thanks to an injury-time equaliser from Success Ameyaa.
After recess, the Black Princesses continued to dominate their Guinea-Bissau counterpart and scored two additional goals.
Strikes from Mary Amponsah and Mercy Atobra sealed a delightful 3-0 win for Ghana at the end of the 90 minutes.
The Black Princesses will now return to Ghana to prepare for the reverse fixture.
