Recent reports have suggested that Fiorentina are close to capturing 19 year old Godfred Donsah from now relegated Cagliari.

Gazzetta are reporting that the deal would amount to a season long loan with an option to buy for around €6 million.

Speculation about the youngster's future has been rife of late, with several English Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Tottenham showing an interest, along with Juventus in Serie A. The most tenacious competition to land his signature at present, however, seems to be coming from Bologna.

Market expert Gianluca DiMarzio has asserted that despite Fiorentina having been on the brink of securing Donsah, newly promoted Bologna - under the guiding hand of former Viola director Pantaleo Corvino - are attempting to hijack the move, scheduling a meeting on Tuesday in an endeavour to seal the deal quickly.

The right footed Ghanaian plays predominantly as a defensive midfielder, but impressed last season with his pace, dribbling skills and scored two incredible goals in Serie A.

Signing such a hot prospect after a legion of interest from other top clubs could prove to be a real coup for Fiorentina... if they can pull it off.
