Fiorentina boss hopes mistakes are behind them after Roma defeat

Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa is hoping his side don’t repeat the same mistakes they made in their 4-1 defeat to Roma.

Josip Ilicic netted but a brace from Mohamed Salah and one each for Stephan El Shaarawy and Diego Perotti put the game to bed.

“I always try to find the positives in these situations, but I hope the mistakes we made aren’t repeated,” Sousa told Premium Sport.

“Roma interpreted the game well, both physically and tactically, they stretched us and have players with excellent ability in attack.

“We knew we would be limited in midfield and it was difficult because this Roma team are still getting stronger and stronger.

“We want to hold onto our position in the table, but we need continuity and I concede it isn’t an easy task,” Sousa concluded.

Fiorentina will remain in fourth having created a game between themselves and Inter, but need to get back to winning ways.
