Former Ghana defender Andy Yiadom featured for Reading U21 side in their 3-1 win over Aston Villa to signify his recover from a serious knee injury which has kept him out for almost a year.

Yiadom, 33, is now nearing a return to first team football after featuring for the feeder club.

The former Ghana international suffered a serious knee injury which has kept him for several months.

Reading FC manager Noel Hunt has confirmed the Ghanaian was getting closer to earning a place in the first but admits he has some work to do.

Yiadom played in Reading U21s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa last Friday, coming off the bench for around 30 minutes of valuable game time.

He has been in Berkshire since 2018 when he joined on a free transfer from Barnsley.

Since then he has gone on to make more than 200 appearances in a Royals shirt and will be hoping for more once he fully recovers from injury.
