Five things to know ahead of Napoli v AC Milan

Published on: 21 February 2016

Napoli host AC Milan in Monday evening’s final round 26 Serie A fixture at the Stadio San Paolo.

While the home team have the opportunity to reclaim top spot, the visitors are desperate to stay in the race for a European position following a tough start to the season.

Thus with so much to gain from the encounter, here’s five things to know ahead of the heavyweight clash.

Napoli own the recent head-to-heads

If this season’s form wasn’t enough to go by, the head to head results have been less than flattering for the Milan giants.

In their last nine games, the Rossoneri have picked up just the one win while Napoli took maximum points in five of the fixtures.

The last two of those fixtures included an emphatic 4-0 away win last October in addition to a 3-0 victory in last season’s corresponding match.

Given that the Milanese have not won at the Stadio San Paolo since October 2010 and with top-spot on offer for the Partenopei, a win for the visitors would be a monumental result.
