Flick credits high Bayern press

Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick identifies the high press as the key to their 4-1 win over Lazio. ‘We wanted to put them under pressure from the start.’

The deadlock was broken after just nine minutes when Robert Lewandowski intercepted a dreadful Mateo Musacchio back-pass, and it was all downhill from there.

“We wanted to put them under pressure from the start, which we did very well,” said Flick in his press conference.

“We always won the ball back early and consequently created lots of scoring opportunities. We’re very happy with what we did today and all the players satisfied expectations.”

The second leg will be in Munich on March 17.
