Focused Kurt Okraku arrives in Bolgatanga to launch massive project

Ghana FA boss Kurt Okraku has arrived in the Upper East regional capital of Bolgatanga to inspect a facility for the construction of an an AstroTurf.

The Ghanaian FA leader, who is a man on a positive mission, unveiled the signpost for the monumental project with the support of the Upper East Regional Football Association, the Chiefs, elders and the Community on Wednesday.

The 6.5-acre land was donated by the headmaster of the  which was donated by the headmaster of the Bolgatanga Senior High School Ababu Afelibik.

This is part of an Executive Council decision to use part of the funds from the FIFA Forward 1.0 programme for the construction of two Astro Turfs at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence

The Ghana FA capo was in the company of Executive Council member Alhaji Salifu Zida Shaibu, who doubles as the Chairman of the Upper East Regional Football Association as well as the Executive Council members of the Regional and District Football Association for Upper East.

This is massive relief for the people of Bolgatanga, who have been deprived quality playing facility for years.

The FIFA Forward 1.0 fund was one of the key issues that President Kurt Simeon Okraku discussed with FIFA President Gianni Infantino during his visit to the Home of Football, Switzerland in December 2019.

Since the visit, the GFA has been working with the FIFA Development officers who visited Ghana in March 2020.
