Football fans condemn 'stupid' and 'embarrassing' Jack Grealish

Football fans have condemned Jack Grealish after the Aston Villa star allegedly crashed his £70,000 car following a party at a luxury apartment over the weekend.

As exclusively revealed by Sportsmail, images emerged on social media on Sunday of a white Range Rover, as well as a separate picture of a man resembling Grealish apparently taken nearby.

It came just hours after the Villa captain posted a video telling the public to 'Protect the NHS, stay home, save lives' during the nationwide coronavirus lockdown and angry fans took to social media to slam Grealish.

Khaleem Azam wrote: 'Jack Grealish is never going to learn is he? The antics he's get [sic] up to could really effect his chances of getting a top move and a chance in the England side. Also he's stupid for going out in the first place when we're all meant to be staying in.'

Leon Kingsford tweeted: 'If Nike were a socially conscious, reputable company they would terminate their agreement with Jack Grealish immediately. To ignore the guidance of the government and place lives at risk for his own selfish purposes in disgusting.'

Helen Pickering wrote: 'Jack Grealish stupidity and complete lack of respect for the country should have consequences. He is supposed to be a role model! Disgraceful behaviour, this situation is serious for everyone! He should be heavily fined and should no longer be captain.'

Jonny Edwards said: 'As a Brummie, I think Grealish should give 3 months wages to the NHS for what he has done.'

Twitter user Pats, Inter & Villa wrote: 'The fact that Villa fans are defending Jack Grealish is embarrassing.

'We as a country are in the worst pandemic we have ever seen and myself as an NHS worker is working flat out to help get this country through this and some millionaire footballer thinks he has the right to break the rules and go out then crash his car.

'It is quite frankly insulting to every Villa fan that just [an] hour earlier, he was preaching to stay at home and help save lives. As a lifelong Villa fan I've lost all respect for Grealish, go to [Manchester] United and grow up!'

Andrew Dallin said: 'Grealish should be banned from all football for 12 months from its restart by the FA, no wages should be paid by Villa for that time. He's an embarrassment of a human being.'

Adrian Bridge wrote: 'If this is all true then what a clown Grealish will look. It's one thing crashing the car etc but to literally hours before take to Twitter to beg people to stay in to protect the NHS!?! I have no sympathy and he deserves all the abuse coming his way.'

'Secondtimegirl' on Twitter wrote: 'Let's see. Footballs are probably on full wages whilst at home v some people are on minimum wage and key workers putting themselves at risk to keep the country going. Some people need to behave less like d**s. Grealish should donate his wages to NHS if true.'
