Former FIFA U20 World Cup winner Samuel Inkoom has tasked the current players to punch above their weight and progress at the 2013 tournament in Turkey.

Ghana are facing a first round exit after suffering back-to-back defeats to France and Spain in Group A.

The Black Satellites need a win against USA and wait for the other final batch of matches in the Groups to determine if they can progress.

The top two teams from all the six Groups will be joined by the best four third-place sides in the round of 16 stage.

Ghana have faint hopes of progressing and Inkoom has thrown a challenge to the players to dig deep for a win against the Americans.

"I have watched the two matches and for me is the same coach we use to say fantastic Bobovic who guided us to win the 2009 World Cup," the FC Dnipro player told Joy sports

"For me I will talk about the players because if you are doing something and you know your father is not helping, you need to help yourself in some way because this the time they need to do something seriously.

"I’m not saying they are not playing well, I’m a player and if I say somebody is not good then I’m not been fair.

"What I want to say to them is they need to put everything aside, work hard and stay focused because this is the time to make history."
