Former Ghana coach  Charles 'CK" Akonnor has sensationally revealed he struggled to name his squad during his tenure as national team boss.

The former Black Stars captain replaced Kwesi Appiah as Ghana boss in January 2020.

But he was sacked together with his two assistants after Ghana lost 1-0 away to South Africa in their second Group G game of 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The former Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, AshantiGold and Dreams FC coach has revealed he struggled to name his squad for international assignments.

"Black Stars at my time was struggling, the whole team was not stable, and sometimes when making call up you don't even know how many players to call," he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

"At Black Stars, it was a different story and one day I will tell it," he added.

In 10 matches, he had a win rate of just 40%, having won four, lost four, and draw two.

He was subsequently replaced by Milovan Rajevac.
