Former Ghana International John Paintsil has advised young footballers to focus on working hard to improve their God-given talents if they want to succeed in their career instead of relying on Black magic popularly known as 'juju'.

There hasn't been any scientific proof on 'juju' enhancing the performance of players in games but the belief that it does makes some of these players rely on them to succeed.

According to the former Fulham defender, players should rather concentrate on training hard instead of relying on some belief or portion which can enhance a player's performance on the field

"Why would you compromise your God-given talent for juju to aid your performance and results, instead of taking your training serious and abiding by the rules and regulations of the game," he quizzes on Suncity radio.

Paintsil also called on the leadership of the FA to replicate those times where players were camped for long at the Winneba Sports College which saw the Black Stars achieve a lot of success during his active days.

"When players like Michael Essien, Sule Muntari, myself and others were camped at the Winneba Sports College between 1996--1999, we all saw the results that the Black Stars gave Ghanaians, and urged the FA to replicate that system now, to place the nation back on top of continental and international soccer," he stated.
