Former Ghana striker, Prince Tagoe says he does not think Paris Saint Germain star Lionel Messi deserved the Ballon D'or.

The Argentina ace was voted the best male footballer as he picked his seventh Ballon D'or in Paris last night.

Before the awards, Tagoe who is a pundit on Angel TV, made the submission that it will be unfair to award the ex-Barcelona star.

"If Messi win this Ballon d'Or, it will not be cos of his performance in the year. It will be cos of his name and past achievements. Lewandowski deserves to win. If Lewandowski or others don't win & Messi does win, it will be unfair," said Prince Tagoe.

Messi beat Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandwoski and Chelsea's Jorginho to the award.

Prince Tagoe spent sometime in Europe during his playing days when he featured for TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga and Serbia's Parizan Belgrade. He also featured for Bursapor.

He represented Ghana at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
