Former Ghana Under-17 captain Eric Ayiah has  joined French club AS Monaco from lower division side Charity Stars Academy.

The 18 year old signed a five year deal with the club after successfully passing medicals on Thursday.

Ayiah was on the radar of several European clubs after his exploits in the Africa Junior Championship and the FIFA U-17 World Cup last year.

However, he settled on Monaco, who have the penchant of harnessing young football talents.

The forward, who was named in the list of top 50 best players under 18 last year, scored 4 goals at the Africa Junior Championship in Gabon to help Ghana finish second.

Ayiah then netted 3 goals at the FIFA World Cup in India, where Ghana reached the quarter finals.
