BREAKING NEWS: Former Hearts of Oak star Uriah Asante dies of heart attack aged 24

Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Uriah Asante is dead, a family member has confirmed. 

The 24-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest and pronounced dead at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

His cousin Adolf Gyimah on Kumasi-based Ashh FM on Monday.

Asante played for Hearts of Oak on loan from Pure Joy FC and blossomed in two seasons.

He then left for Tunisia to play for Etoile du Sahel and EGS Gafsa.

    Trying to confirm if it's truly you bro...long time no see after school...RIP man...qtn- football is a game of strength so if you reduce your age just to get signed it will have a toll on you..I am hitting mid 30s and you die at 24 whiles we were in the same class in primary school...Peace of advice to all upcoming sports stars keep to your true age.RIP
