Former Ghana youth international Ibrahim Zubairu has marked his maiden goal for FK Partizan Belgrade in a closely contested match against OFK Beograd in the Serbian Super Liga.
Despite Zubairu's efforts, Partizan Belgrade fell to a 3-2 defeat on Sunday at the Stadion Omladinski.
Partizan took the lead in the 15th minute through Aleksandar Filipovic, only for OFK’s Ghana international forward Samuel Owusu to level the score three minutes later.
Zubairu restored Partizan’s advantage in the 40th minute with a well-placed finish, showcasing the attacking prowess he developed during his time at King Faisal Babes FC.
However, the game turned in the second half when Aleksandar Palocevic and Filip Stojilkovic struck late for OFK, securing a vital win and moving them up to third in the standings with 16 points from eight matches.
Ghanaian defender Ebenezer Annan and midfielder Edmund Addo enjoyed full throttle of the match as they featured for OFK.
Zubairu, who joined Partizan from FK Jedinstvo Ub for â¬500,000 this summer, has now made four appearances in the Serbian Super Liga, contributing one goal and one assist.
