Former Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku has congratulated Hearts of Oak for winning this season Ghana Premier League.

Speaking to Original FM, Opoku said, I will congratulate Accra Hearts of Oak for winning the Ghana Premier League they really work hard for it”

Opoku's departure in the middle of the season obviously affected Kotoko as they came up short in the title race against their sworn enemies.

Kotoko finished second, a point behind the Phobians, who were crowned champions for the first time in 12 years.

The attacker scored seven goals and left Kotoko in a good position, way above the Phobians before signing for Algerian side USM Alger.

He has been in great form since his debut for the Algerians, scoring four goals including a stunner recently.
