Ex-Lazio glovesman Luca Marchegiani is surprised at the rise of Sulley Muntari since he joined Italian giant AC Milan.
The 27-year-old joined the cross-town rivals from Inter Milan on a six-month loan deal in January after he struggled for first team action at the Nerazurri.
But he has since become a regular under Massimiliano Allegri where he has rediscovered his confidence as his performance to continue to earn rave reviews and Marchegiani who was once the most expensive goalkeeper in the world is astonished at the turn of events.
“Muntari is a surprise package. It’s amazing how he has hit the ground running and fit into a team he hitherto didn’t play for,†Marchegiani said
“He’s performing above expectations. May be that could have come from the Africa Cup of Nations because he virtually wasn’t playing during his days at Inter,â€
