Former premier sides fail to win as DOL starts

Three former Premier League campaigners kicked off life in the Division One League with uninspiring results as the competition got underway over the weekend.

Wassaman United, Bechem United and Mighty Jets who were all relegated last season failed to produce wins in their first day matches in the second tier football league.

In Sunyani, Bechem United lost 0-1 to B. A. Stars as Universal Stars were the highest scorers on the opening day with a 5-0 thumping of Sampa United 5-0 in Zone 1B.

Wassaman United drew 1-1 with Windy Professionals in Zone 2B where Hasaacas got their season off with a 3-0 win over Metro Stars.

In Zone 3B, Mighty Jets were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Unity Stars from the Volta Region.

Great Olympics could not get past new promoted Prestige FC after drawing 1-1 in their Zone 3A fixture.
