Scotland’s former top referee Hugh Dallas has slammed Celtic manager Neil Lennon for bullying current day match officials.
The Hoops boss again exploded at a referee when he confronted Euan Norris after his side were beaten 2-1 by Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Cup semi-final courtesy of a late penalty.
Lennon is sure to again land in hot water for his actions with Dallas condemning the man who has already had a number of fines and touchline suspensions in the past 12 months.
“I can’t remember in 25 years of refereeing seeing a manager run that far onto a pitch to bully a referee,†said Dallas.
“These pictures are going around the world and it is not good.â€
And Dallas added that perhaps Lennon should have a look at how the managers react to poor decisions in England after Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp calmly spoke to the referee when his side conceded a ‘ghost’ goal in their FA Cup loss to Chelsea at Wembley on the same day.
“It was a huge occasion and a goal was given where the ball didn’t cross the line,†Dallas added.
“After the game, Harry Redknapp said he had a chat with the referee, who admitted he made an honest mistake. Redknapp said he was disappointed but was keen to move on.
“That’s how we should do it in Scotland.â€
