Liberty Professionals forward Kwaku Karikari picked up the man of the match award after his goal helped secure a 3-2 victory against Karela United on Sunday.

Karikari scored from the spot, a reward for his impressive performance as Liberty boosted their survival hopes.

Evans Owusu scored the decisive goal as Liberty won the three points in Sogakope to move out of the relegation zone with two matches to go.

The Scientific Soccer lads knew they had to win and started the game strongly, resulting in the first goal scored by Abraham Wayo 12 minutes into the match.

However, lack of concentration at the back proved costly as Diawise Taylor restored parity for Karela in the 15th with his 17th goal of the season.

They regained their lead on after 25 minutes when Kwaku Karikari converted a spot-kick.

Liberty, this time, managed to hold and end the half with a 2-1 lead.

Karela improved in the second department, pushing for the equaliser. They got it in the 70th minute through Liberian Varney Sando.

But ix minutes later, Liberty scored the winner. Owusu got the goal from close range.

Karikari was rewarded with products from MOTM award sponsors, NASCO.
