The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup France 2018 moved a step closer on Wednesday 17 January, with the announcement of the match schedule. The Stade de la Rabine in Vannes will stage the tournament’s opening match, at 16:30 (CET) on Sunday 5 August, and will also host the final, at 19:30 (CET) on Friday 24 August.

The competition will be held at four stadiums in all, with venues in Concarneau, Dinan-Lehon and Saint-Malo also staging matches.

Asia’s three representatives (Japan, Korea DPR, and China PR) are the latest sides to have qualified alongside hosts France, following the AFC U-19 Women’s Championship in October 2017.

New Zealand claimed the first available ticket to France 2018, courtesy of their victory in the Oceania qualifying competition in July. Spain, Germany, England and the Netherlands joined them after successfully negotiating the European qualifiers in August.

The identity of the sides representing the CONCACAF Zone, Africa and South America will be revealed in January, completing the line-up for France 2018.

The Final Draw for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup France 2018 will be held at the Rennes Opera House on a symbolic day, 8 March – International Women’s Day.
