Fred Pappoe advises GFA and Palmer to accept CAS ruling on Friday

Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, Fred Pappoe has advised the Ghana Football Association and Wilfred Osei Kwaku to accept whatever verdict comes from CAS over Palmer's disqualification from the 2019 presidential race.

The global tribunal has set Friday July 17 for the verdict to bring to an end a 10-month legal tussle between the former Ghana FA Executive Committee member and the association.

Palmer dragged the FA to the apex of world sports court after he was disqualified from contesting the 2019 Presidential race by the defunct normalisation committee.

CAS will announce the decision whether to uphold Palmer's quest to annul the election and order for fresh polls to decide on a new President for the GFA or allow the status quo to remain.

“This is a simple case but very important to Ghana football. I hope this case will put a lot of things to rest," he told Happy FM.

“First the case looks at one person who believes his right to seek office as FA President was taken away from him. So it is his right to seek redress on the matter.

“Secondly if the decision was taken and then whether to organize a new election.

“I think the decision to strip him of his right from not contesting is painful.

“I am sure CAS will give more clarity on this issue in their ruling on this 10 per cent transfer fee. We should all accept whatever comes out of the ruling and move on with our life’s," he added.
