Asante Kotoko defender Yaw Frimpong was left out of the local component of the Black Stars team that traveled for a pre-match camp in Kenya on Sunday, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 24-year-old was still at the Kotoko camp around the same time the traveling party filled in at the Kotoka International Airport for their trip ahead of the games against Sudan and Nigeria.

No official reason has been given for the right-back’s exclusion but a Ghana FA source told GHANAsoccernet.com it had nothing to do with visa problems as speculated in the Ghanaian media.

“I am not aware of any visa issues with Yaw Frimpong,” the source exclusively told GHANAsoccernet.com.

The full compliment of the Black Stars squad which now has only two local players is expected by Tuesday.

The team will be in the Nairobi camp for four days before traveling to Sudan for the all important final 2012 Africa Nations Cup qualifier on Saturday.
