Former Ghana international Frimpong Manso has shared how Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Frimpong Manso can cement his place in the Black Stars team.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper received his maiden invitation in March and did not disappoint, recording a clean sheet in Ghana's dominant 5-0 triumph over Chad on March 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Asare retained his spot for the Madagascar clash, in which he had a clean sheet in a 3-0 win, adding to Ghana extending their lead at the top of Group I to 15 points.

With Otto Addo confirming Asare as the first choice goalkeeper, Manso, who is the current head coach of Bibiani Goldstars has entreated Asare to keep believing in himself and excel at the four-nation tournament for the country in order to keep his place in the team.

“No one knew Benjamin Asare when he was at Olympics but within a short space of time, he’s been able to turn his fortunes around when he went to Accra Hearts of Oak. He should keep believing in himself and work very hard to maintain his form. Asare needs this world cup and needs the confidence from the bigger games which will come very soon”

“Asare needs to show much confidence in the four nation tournament in May this year. This will make him feel established and also cement his position as Black stars number one goalie” he said.

Asare is expected to be included in the Black Stars squad for the 2025 Unity Cup scheduled for May in England.
