FSV Mainz 05 Sporting Director Rouven Schröder has lavished praise on Ghanaian youngster Issah Abass.

Abass completed a five-year deal to German Bundesliga side outfit from Slovenian giants NK Olimpija Ljubljana on Transfer Deadline Day.

The 19-year-old joined the Opel Arena side following his exploits for NK Ljubljana where he helped them to qualify for Europe, scoring nine goals in 32 appearance.

"Issah Abass is a highly gifted talent and an investment in our future, we trust him with the next leaps in development, we give him the necessary time. This was the right moment to win it for us," says Rouven Schröder.

"Issah Abass can play all positions on offense, he is an incredibly dynamic, fast and yet robust player with strengths in one-on-one."
