Fulham are back in the hunt for Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The Cottaggers bid for the Ghanaian international hits the rocks over a legal wrangle with his former club Dnipro four months ago.

The 29-year-old passed a medical in January but was unable to finalise the deal before the deadline of January 31.

Boateng’s Ukrainian outfit Dnipro claim the midfielder walked out on them without their permission and therefore stalled his move to the Craven Cottage.

But Fulham could finally seal the hugely-anticiapted deal with Boateng after the player won his case against Dnipro at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland.

The English outfit are now in pole position to push through with the deal now that he’s a free agent.

It will be a dream come alive for the exciting enforcer who has long-cherished ambition of  playing  top-flight football in England after he failed to secure work permit to play for Middlesbrough in 2003.

Martin Jol’s interest in the 29-year-old is long established, with the Fulham manager having come close to securing the defensive midfielder on loan last summer.

Boateng, who had enjoyed spells in Greece, Sweden, Israel and Spain before moving to Ukraine.
