Ghanaian forward Gabriel Mensah was on target for Pieta Hotspurs but it was not enough as they lost 3-2 to Hamrun Spartans in the Maltese Premier League.

Hamrun Spartans defeated their rival neighbours Pieta Hotspurs in a hard-fought encounter which produced five goals - all in an exciting 11 minute spell in the first half.

Triston Calil and Kevin Tulimieri gave Hamrun a 2-0 lead after 34 minutes, but Pieta quickly hit back to level matters through Gabriel Mensah and Tony Macedo in the 37th and 39th minute respectively.

However, Wilfried Domoraud gave the Spartans a 3-2 first half lead which they kept till the very end.

The three points pushed Hamrun back into 5th place on 22 points. Pieta remained in 11th place on 10 points.
