Referee Bakary Gassama of Gambia to handle this weekend's CAF Champions League game between Asante Kotoko and JSM Bejaia

Gambian Papa Bakary Gassama has been appointed the center referee for Asante Kotoko’s Champions League match against JSM Bejaia.

The 36-year-old will be assisted on the lines by compatriots; Yawo Dickory and Sosey Souleymane with Jallow Mauda serving as the fourth official for the Round of 16 second leg tie in Kumasi this Sunday.

Togolese Adjodoi will be the Match Commissioner for the game that will kick off at 14:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Kotoko need just a win to progress in the competition after grinding out a goalless draw in the first leg game in Algeria.

Gassama comes in with a worth of experience – having handled a quarter final game at the Africa Cup of Nations within just three years of serving on the international panel.

He also officiated alongside Seychelles’ Jason Damoo and Angesom Ogbamariam of Eritrea at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Gassama is also on a 52-man shortlist for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
