Garcia: Roma will recover as injured stars return

Roma coach Rudi Garcia believes his side will recover from a disappointing 3-3 draw with Chievo when his injured players return to action.

With Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi, Radja Nainggolan, Miralem Pjanic, Edin Dzeko and more  on the sidelines the Lupi squandered leads at 2-0 and 3-2 to leave Verona with just a point as they lose ground on rivals in the race for the Serie A title.

“Obviously we lost two points tonight but it was difficult because we were missing important men and we will recover and hopefully have different players available for Saturday,” Garcia told Mediaset Premium.

“As long as the team does not give up and tries hard to erase mistakes we can push harder this wheel of fortune.

“You cannot play a game missing seven midfielders and the players are angry, but this anger must focus itself immediately onto Saturday and there will be a great match that we must win against AC Milan.”

One positive for the Giallorossi was the continued good form of Umar Sadiq, who netted the opener, his second Serie A goal in two games.

“I’m happy with Sadiq, he is growing and we know we have a quality player,” Garcia said.

“He plays with enthusiasm and confidence and it was a shame he couldn’t score his second goal because he deserved it.

“We had several scoring chances and we need Dzeko back; we are short in the offensive department but today we were short in midfield.”
