GARFA postpones Congress amid coronavirus outbreak

The Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) has postponed it Congress which was scheduled for Tuesday 7 April, 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

This is in line with the suspension of all football activities from the Ghana Football Association amid the coronavirus outbreak.

According to a statement released by the Association, the Congress has been postponed indefinitely with a new date set to communicated to the members.

A statement from the GARFA read,

“With reference to our earlier notice to all affiliated clubs of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) about the 2019/20 Congress which was slated to be held on Tuesday 7th April 2020.

"The Executive Council of the GARFA regret to inform you through this circular that the Congress has been postponed to a later date that will be announced to members in due course.

"The above decision was taken after a careful interrogation of current issues and directives from the State and the GFA.

"Whiles we trust you for your understanding, we take this opportunity to express our thanks for your support and also pray that the Almighty God see all of us through this difficult times.

"Let us all endeavour to keep to all protocols from the State and all relevant institutions with regards to the COVID 19.

We shall surely return stronger and better to ignite the PASSION on the field.
