GATTUSO: "IT'LL BE REALLY TOUGH IN FERRARA"

Published on: 20 May 2019

Following the crucial 2-0 win over Frosinone, Gennaro Gattuso and spoke to Milan TV. The Rossoneri coach wanted to congratulate Gianluigi Donnarumma for the penalty save above all. "We needed it to wake up, he has real quality.

DONNARUMMA’S PENALTY SAVE
"This Frosinone game reflected our whole season. We had to suffer and there were ups and downs. We needed a penalty to wake up. Gigio’s save symbolises our whole season. He was born with real quality, now he has to keep it up because Champions League experience is the only thing he lacks. He should do well there as well, the whole world of football will talk about him."

OUR AWAY TRIP TO SPAL
“It’ll be really tough in Ferrara. We're coming up against a team that always gives it a good go whoever they’re playing. However, I’m happy. The attitude and mentality have changed during our last few league matches. For us, our biggest regret is that five-point tally from seven matches during our difficult spell.”

THE FIGHT FOR FOURTH PLACE
“Let’s not waste time talking about fourth or fifth place, on a professional level it would be a dream for everybody to qualify for the Champions League. Our assessment of the season wouldn’t change even if we finished fifth.”

THE FUTURE
“I want to focus on SPAL, too many things are being said about my future but AC Milan is the priority, as I’ve already said. I only want to be judged on what I’ve done since becoming Coach a year-and-a-half ago.”
