George Afriyie admits the Ghana FA need to restore its lost credibility following his re-election onto the Executive Committee.

The Black Stars management committee chairman was retained as a member of the powerful GFA board in elections held on Tuesday.

Afriyie remains a popular figure within the Ghanaian football fraternity to secure a massive endorsement to retain his seat.

But the Director of Liberty Professionals admits work needs to be done to restore football as a credible sport following recent developments which have seen the world governing body even take a massive hit.

“We need redemption,” he said.

“We need to rebrand our football. All over the world, football has taken some sort of a credibility hit.

“So we need to work for people to have the appeal towards football they used to have.”
